AYUBOWAN! As soon as you arrive, one of our representatives will welcome you and accompany you to your private vehicle. To assist you in settling in, you will be escorted from the Bandaranaike International Airport to your Colombo hotel.
Because of its parks and playing fields, inspired architecture and spaciousness, air-conditioned retail malls, and high-end restaurants, Colombo appears poised to reclaim its title as Asia’s Garden City. We haven’t planned any activities for the first day, so you can arrive whenever you like. If your flight is early in the morning, unwind at your lovely hotel’s beach and pool. Go out to a nearby restaurant for supper.

Following that, view the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), the Avukana Buddha replica, and Independence Square. Dinner will be served at the hotel. Another stunning sight in Ella is the Ravana Ella Falls, which is ideal for a brief swim in the chilly waters.
Ella’s Peak provides a stunning perspective of the surrounding area, and the hike up to the rock itself is scenic, going between train tracks and tea plantations.
Ella Gap, Little Adam’s Peak, and Rawana Waterfalls are all worth seeing. Return to the hotel and rest or participate in wellness activities as desired. Dinner and an overnight stay at the Wellness Resort are included.
Day 10
Breakfast at the hotel, then we head to Balapitiya, a seaside city in southern Sri Lanka. You may enjoy the tropical beach and wellness activities in one location. This is your temporary residence for the next three days till you fly out. Every evening, dinner will be given at the resort. Spend the night at the resort.
Day 11
Dinner and overnight at the resort.
Day 12
Today we visit Galle Fort, which is located in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It was erected by the Portuguese in 1588 and then heavily reinforced by the Dutch in the 17th century beginning in 1649. It is a historical, archaeological, and architectural landmark. Enjoy a special Farewell Dinner in the evening.
Day 13
We will transport you to Colombo airport in a private vehicle for your departing flight today. It’s time to say our last farewells to the friends you’ve made over the previous 12 days. Return home or continue on your adventure. Whatever your next destination, we hope we have educated you on a country with so much to offer, so much variation in exploration, and so much to inspire you to get out there and explore more.
Colombo, Sri Lanka’s commercial center, is around 30 minutes away from the International Airport through the new Expressway. Its outskirts are hectic, congested with traffic, and densely packed with office and residential buildings, but the city center has been revitalized with bright new high-rise hotels and office buildings, restored and re-painted Edwardian houses, and vast tree-lined boulevards.
Because of its parks and playing fields, inspired architecture and spaciousness, air-conditioned retail malls, high-end restaurants, and hotels to suit all budgets, Colombo appears poised to reclaim its title as Asia’s Garden City. There is no subway system, and buses are generally crowded with commuters, so taking one of the ubiquitous, buzzing three-wheeler taxis known as ‘tuk tuks’ is a fantastic way to see the city.
Kandy, the old kingdom, is home to the Temple of the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha, as well as Edwardian structures, a king-made lake, a wildlife reserve, and interesting stores.
Kandy, the island’s second biggest city and the headquarters of the Central Province, has evolved from a medieval monarchy to a pleasant, bustling metropolis located in wooded hills surrounded by tea plantations and adjacent to the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya. There are several Buddhist monasteries and Hindu sites of worship to visit, as well as cultural dance performances to observe, in addition to the Temple of the Tooth.
Kandy is a good place to stay for a few days while seeing the Cultural Triangle since there are hotels to suit every budget. Colombo is easily accessible by rail, road, and float aircraft.
Ella is a tiny hill country community with independent guesthouses, surrounded by mountains, farms, and waterfalls, with breathtaking views and a dramatic mythical past. In the classic Indian epic Ramanaya, written more than 1,000 years before Christ, it is said that Ravana, ruler of Lanka, utilized Sita Cave, 2 kilometers from Ella, to conceal Sita, Rama’s lovely bride. This draws numerous tourists from India who are interested in the Ramanaya narrative. The vista via Ella Gap and Ravana Falls is equally appealing.
Ella is also a popular stop on the backpackers’ path from west to east Sri Lanka, and several tiny cafés and low-cost guesthouses have sprung up along the major road through the hamlet to accommodate them. The charming village, located 204 kilometers from Colombo, is best visited by rail.
This “Living” UNESCO World Heritage Site is the harbor where the Portuguese first landed in Sri Lanka in 1505, and is said to be the legendary Tarshish of the Bible where King Solomon gathered jewels and spices. The city was captured and fortified by the Dutch who governed maritime Sri Lanka in the 17th and 18th centuries, and it still has a Dutch feel to it. Within the well-preserved 90-acre fort and fortifications erected in 1663, there are Old Dutch churches and monuments with armorial bearings, an imposing crested and monogrammed doorway dated 1669, and numerous well-preserved Old Dutch dwellings and small lanes with Dutch names. The New Oriental Hotel, erected in 1684 for a Dutch governor, is a colonial jewel that has been turned into the globally famous Amangalle Hotel, as are numerous other superb boutique hotels.
Balapitiya, a tiny, scenic hamlet with golden soft beaches, is 45 minutes south of Colombo, either by coastal road or by train. A fantastic place for anyone seeking the “genuine Sri Lanka,” away from the mainstream tourist destinations.
While Balapitiya appears to be “untouched” by mass tourism, it is only a short drive from Bentota, one of Sri Lanka’s most popular beach resorts. To the south, Ambalangoda, famed for its mask carving, is easily accessible, as are the surfers’ paradise of Hikkaduwa and the medieval city of Galle.
